Apart-Hotel for Peckham
We’re excited to share an early look at our new commission on Rye Lane in Peckham: a low-energy aparthotel and commercial space designed to bring a moment of calm to one of London’s most vibrant high streets.
The site offers a rare opportunity: a missing piece in the streetscape that can both honour the character of the Rye Lane Conservation Area and introduce something distinct. Our proposal pairs a bold, contextual frontage with a quieter world behind – an urban oasis that's filled with planting and daylight.
At the heart of the project is a first-floor breakout space overlooking a lush green roof and a series of garden studios, imagined as calm, well-crafted rooms set away from the busyness of the high street. This becomes the atmosphere of the hotel: generous, uplifting, quietly joyful.
Every element – from the massing that bookends this stretch of Rye Lane, to the long, light-led room layouts, to the passive sustainable design approach – is crafted for wellbeing, performance and a deep respect for place.
We’re looking forward to developing the proposals further over the coming months.
